Faceless Women.

These works are a product of my interest and exploration into the male gaze, and the prevalence of sexualised imagery of women in contemporary media. Inspired by social media, magazine and newspaper images, these paintings aims to highlight the ubiquity of the metaphorical “decapitation” of women through the medium of oil paint; hijacking the traditionally male dominated medium and ‘high art’ sphere with images of objectified, “faceless” women.
